We are recruiting Trustees to increase the skill base of our board. We have a strong board of 8 Trustees and now want to recruit additional trustees particularly with the skills and experience to contribute to financial planning and take on the treasurer role in time.
Please let friends and family know we would love to hear from anyone who might be interested.
Judith Armstrong talking about Connecting Families on the Community Channel's 'My Brilliant Moment' in glorious tecnicolour!
Connecting Families is our new Big Lottery funded project, aimed at reducing the isolation of families with young children in the London Borough of Sutton.
Connection 1 - Home-based family mentoring; locally recruited and professionally supported volunteers provding weekly support to families.
Connection 2 - A 10 week parent programme. The Nurturing Programme is an evidence based parent programme and will be delivered 2/3 times per year in community locations across the broough. Follow-up support after the course is also provided.
Conenction 3 - Community Connecting Volunteers providing 1:1 short-term support for families empowering them to access local services and create informal support networks or groups.
We are very excited that by July we will have already recruited and trained 16 new volunteers to join our existing 50 volunteers in providing valuable, direct support to young families.
Referrals are via the office 020 8647 6501 or email email@example.com

We are thrilled to be able to report we have been successful in being awarded funding from the Big Lottery Reaching Communities Fund. We are all very excited; this is a 5 year award for a new Connecting Families project focusing on reducing family isolation and improving family networks in Sutton.
The grant provides stability in an ever changing funding landscape and a very solid base to work from in securing additional funding to extend our support to Sutton’s families.
Without the very generous anonymous donation in February this year we may not have ’lived to tell this tale’, enormous thanks go out to you!
Thank you to all our volunteers, friends and supporters who have continued to ensure we were able to support families in Sutton despite the funding challenges.
30th Anniversary Celebrations
Home-Start Sutton had a party to celebrate 30 years of supporting families in the borough. Volunteers, staff, Trustees and families were invited to Trinity Centre Wallington last week to share memories and meet old friends. The guest of honour was Marian Moss who started the scheme in 1984 and remained the Manager until 2011.
The children were entertained by Dramabuds, while the adults reminisced over photos – trying not to be embarrassed by the 80’s hairstyles! Free cakes for Kids provided a beautiful cake and volunteers, staff and families from across the three decades gathered for a photo.
Mum2Mum cake sale raised £133,
thank you to all those who supported
